JSA designed mechanical systems for a new 112,000 SF elementary school that includes 52 classrooms, Cafeteria and Kitchen facilities, Multi-Purpose Gymnasium, Art and Science Labs, and Administration Spaces. The new school building is the 3rd structure built on the historic site located in Atlanta’s Buckhead district and is prominently featured off Peachtree Road at Peachtree Battle. The primary HVAC system is an energy efficient water source heat pump plant. HVAC units are centrally located on a mezzanine in the attic for easy maintenance access. The ventilation air units are water-cooled type located inside the attic space. The project is registered for LEED certification with a Silver target.
